Oakland County Sheriff Bouchard to be Featured Speaker at
Support Our Law Enforcement Rally
May 17 Event to be Held in Southfield
Southfield, MI [Immediate Release]: Karen Faett, West Bloomfield activist, noted that when there was a fatal shooting by a Dearborn Police officer of a criminal suspect in Detroit recently an anti-police protest was scheduled within 48 hours, “without any investigation of facts whatsoever.”
Meanwhile Carol Foster, also of West Bloomfield, had proposed last fall that Republican leaders host an event to show support for law enforcement in light of recent unprovoked acts of violence against police officers.
As a result, Faett and Foster, each a member of the 14th District Republican Executive Committee, teamed up to create the Support Our Law Enforcement Rally scheduled to be held at the Southfield Civic Center Campus from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. The event announced today will feature Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard in its program. Additional speakers and entertainment are expected and will be announced as added. Southfield Civic Center is located at 26000 Evergreen Road (between I-696 and Ten Mile Road).
“We hope that this event will be a positive experience for both the public and for law enforcement,” Faett said.
“Many say that this or that group has lives that matter.” Faett said. “We wish to convey that blue lives matter, too. My feeling is that there is so much propaganda about purported police brutality, and very little is said to rebut it,” Faett said.
