Grosse Pointe Shores Resident Named YAF National Chairman

“The Most Important Undergraduate in the Country” Tapped

Grosse Pointe Shores, MI [Immediate Release]:  Young America’s Foundation (Reston, VA) today named Grant Strobl (Grosse Pointe Shores, MI) to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of Young Americans for Freedom (YAF).

Strobl, who is 20, attends the University of Michigan where he majors in International Studies and Political Science, with a minor in German. He is expected to graduate with the class of 2018.  He was recently named to Red Alert Politics prestigious “30 Under 30” list http://redalertpolitics.com/thirty-under-thirty-2016/grant-strobl/   .

In 2015, Grant was elected to Michigan’s 14th Congressional District Republican Executive Committee, the youngest person to serve in that capacity in Michigan. He recently attended the Democratic and Republican National Conventions as part of his summer project working with Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel in New York.

“Student activists need student leaders,” said Ron Robinson, President of the Foundation, in making the announcement. “The responsibility that comes with the chairmanship of YAF, including its multi-million dollar budget and the network of thousands of activists, make Grant the most important undergraduate in the country---a role for which he is remarkably well-prepared.”

In a statement Strobl said “It is an incredible honor to be named chairman of the Board of Governors, and I am excited to work to grow YAF and expand the movement.  I believe that my generation will be the conservative generation, and I am determined that YAF will make it so.”

In its statement, the Foundation added it “is confident that both Ronald Reagan, YAF’s longtime honorary national chairman, and its founder, William F. Buckley, would be delighted to know their treasured youth organization is in the capable hands of Grant Strobl.”  Read more about Strobl’s appointment here http://www.yaf.org/news/grant-strobl-yaf-chairman/

“Grant is a natural leader who has made significant contributions to growing the 14th District Republicans,” stated Janine Kateff, 14th District Chairwoman.  “He is an outstanding representative of our District and is an example of how conservative young leadership can effect life on campus by planting seeds for our future and by preserving conservative values.”
