Republican District Chair Supports Immigration Reform
Kateff Brings Attention to Pending Federal Legislation
West Bloomfield, MI [Immediate Release]: An immigration reform proposal pending before the U.S. Senate has been endorsed by the Chairwoman of the 14th Congressional District Republican Committee.
Janine Kateff said the Reforming American Immigration for Strong Economy (RAISE) Act will, If enacted, provide relief for workers, including those in Michigan, by reducing immigration.
“The U.S. government currently gives lifetime work permits to about one million new immigrants each year,” said Kateff. “Michiganians across the ideological spectrum think that number is far too high. The vast majority of Michigan conservatives want to reduce legal immigration by at least half — but so do 63 percent of independents and 62 percent of union households.”

Kateff, a West Bloomfield resident, is in her second elected term as 14th District Chairwoman and also serves on the Michigan Republican Party’s State Committee. She is founder of the Greater West Bloomfield Republicans. Kateff was an Oakland County Trump Co-chair and was a Trump bound delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
“Michigan is all too familiar with the economic and societal costs of this and other immigration programs,” said Kateff. “The proposed federal RAISE Act would address many unfortunate aspects of our immigration system and I support its passage.”
