Kateff Calls on Stabenow to Confirm Judge Gorsuch

Trump’s Oakland County Co-Chair Notes Senate Seat Election in 2018

West Bloomfield, MI [Immediate Release]:  Janine Kateff, Chairwoman of the 14th District Congressional District Republican Committee, called on Senator Debbie Stabenow to vote for the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to serve on the U.S Supreme Court.

“Just over ten years ago, Judge Gorsuch was nominated by President George W. Bush to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals in the 10th Circuit Court.   He was unanimously confirmed.  Being unanimous means that he even got a yes vote from Senator Debbie Stabenow,” said Kateff.  “Is Judge Gorsuch now somehow no longer qualified?  Stabenow is being a partisan and is not being an Michigander!”

Senator Stabenow’s seat will be on the November 2018 ballot in Michigan, a state won by President Donald J. Trump.

“Last week Stabenow announced that she would not vote for Judge Gorsuch.  Her vote change is not about Judge Gorsuch’s qualifications somehow being diminished. It is all about partisan Democrat politics.  Stabenow is more aligned with Democrat Chuck Schumer (NY) and the Democrat left wing leadership than with the grassroots voters in Michigan.  Those voters will remember her poor decision in not supporting the very qualified Supreme Court nominee to fill a position which has now been unfilled for over one year,” said Kateff.

Kateff served as an Oakland County Co Chair for the Trump election campaign. In July 2016, Kateff attended the Republican National Convention in Cleveland after her election as a bound Delegate for now President Donald J. Trump and she also attended President Trump’s Inauguration in Washington, D.C.  She is a long time resident of West Bloomfield.
