2016 National Sheriff of the Year to Speak at Southfield Rally
May 17 Event to be Held in Southfield
Southfield, MI [Immediate Release]: The Lucas Award for Sheriff of the Year 2016 from the National Sheriffs’ Association was awarded to our own Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
In acknowledging being named winner of the prestigious national award Sheriff Bouchard said ““I am humbled by this honor and thank NSA for this recognition. Law enforcement is my passion.” The Support Our Law Enforcement Rally is pleased that Sheriff Bouchard will headline several speakers at the Rally to be held May 17 at the Southfield Civic Center.
Carol Foster, Community Events Coordinator for the 14th District Republicans noted “Sheriff Bouchard has served our communities for over 17 years and we are thrilled that he will appear at our Rally. The Rally is designed to honor all of our law enforcement, but this prestigious award winner being there adds to the program.”
The 14th District Republican Executive Committee created the Support Our Law Enforcement Rally scheduled to be held at the Southfield Civic Center Campus from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. This event will be held during National Police Week http://www.policeweek.org/schedule.html
In addition to Sheriff Bouchard, the program will feature other speakers. Additional speakers and entertainment will be announced as added. Southfield Civic Center is located at 26000 Evergreen Road (between I-696 and Ten Mile Road).
“This event will be a positive experience for both the public and for law enforcement. We want our law enforcement to know that we appreciate their daily work to help keep our communities safe,” Foster said.
